Gamble Sands new course called Scarecrow
Gamble Sands, the Top 100 golf resort located in Brewster, Wash., recently...
As you make your way around the windy roads in the backwoods of Olympia, there is a sign that points into the parking lot at Delphi Golf Course. At 2,000 yards and par-32 it might not seem like much on the scorecard but appearances, as they say, can be deceiving. As in the case with Delphi.
This is a course that is owned by the homeowners association and a course that grabs your attention early with a 198-yard par-4 dogleg and keeps it the entire way until you finish on the ninth hole, a 333-yard par-4 that gives you the feel of playing down a hallway.
This is a course that caters to all types of golfers and a challenge for all types of golfers.
Delphi Golf Course was established in the early 1970’s and has evolved into a course the homeowners association is proud of. The course is nine holes but does feature an 18-hole layout with multiple sets of tees along the way. The course winds through the nearby neighborhood and is surrounded by tall pines.
And when you throw in the ponds you will see on a couple of the holes, Delphi offers all the challenges you need. One of the top holes must be the 137-yard fifth hole with a pond and fountains in front of the tee box and stretching nearly to the green complex.
Delphi Golf Course is the kind of place where friends and families like to meet up for a game. In fact, the course provides the honor system asking golfers to put the greens fees in a mail slot outside the pro shop if there is no one inside.
