UW golfer wins NW Women’s Open

University of Washington senior-to-be Kennedy Knox put together a two-round total of 147 to win the Northwest Women’s Open Presented by PNW Equipment at Twin Lakes Golf and Country Club in Federal Way. Knox shot rounds of 73-74 to come from behind and win the tournament as an amateur.

Professional Tori Peers of Las Vegas held the lead after one round with an even-par 72 and finished with an 80 in the second round to finish fourth.

Amateur Taya Battistella of Bellingham and amateur Aristotle Acuff of Seattle both shots 150 total to finish tied for second as amateurs took the top three spots in the tournament.

Lily Marie McCauley of Tumwater who plays at Brigham Young finished fifth at 155 and in a tie with another amateur Sydney Gillespie of Highlands Ranch, Colo.

A total of 42 golfers from around the globe took part in the 2024 tournament.
