Team Oregon captures the crown at PNGA Lamey Cup

The 14th Washington Champion of Champions concluded play at The Home Course in DuPont, Wash. This year’s field consisted of 157 champions from around WA Golf territory, competing in four divisions – Men, Senior Men, Women and Senior Women.

Jordan Brajcich of Everett, Wash. won the Men’s title, Angela Zhang of Bellevue won the Women’s, Tom Brandes of Bellevue won the Senior Men’s and Leslie Folsom of Tukwila won the Senior Women’s.

Brajcich won his first Washington Golf title by firing rounds of 69-69 to earn a one-shot victory over Mitch Baldridge of Tacoma. He entered today’s round one shot off the lead. Brajcich qualified for this championship by winning the 2022 Kitsap County Amateur.

In the Women’s division, Angela Zhang finished at 9-under par and coasted to an 11-shot victory after rounds of 65-70. She is just 13-years-old, and her opening round of 65 set the women’s course record at The Home Course.

Tom Brandes secured his third consecutive victory in the Senior Men’s division by shooting impressive rounds of 72-71, and winning in a one-hole playoff against Ken Wade from Kennewick.

Leslie Folsom clinched her third Senior Women’s title by shooting rounds of 78-78, which earned her a two-shot victory over defending champion Gretchen Klein of Hoquiam and Patty Myers of Camas.
