Snyder wins Washington Open at Meridian Valley

Blake Snyder of PNW Golf Academy in Issaquah, Wash. fired a three-round total of 200 to win the Muckleshoot Washington Open Invitational at Meridian Valley Country Club in Kent.

PGA Professional Daniel Campbell of Bellingham G&CC (Bellingham, Wash.) finished second and PGA Professional David Phay of Whidbey GC (Oak Harbor, Wash.) finished third place. Campbell two shots back of Snyder with a 202 total while Phay was one more back with a 203 total.

Snyder started hot in the opening round of the tournament with a 5-under 67 and kept it going over the next two rounds shoot a 66 and 67 to finish 16 under par for the three rounds.

Low amateur honors went to Collin Hodgkinson of The Reserve Vineyards (Aloha, Ore.). Hodgkinson finished at 6 under par for the tournament, 10 strokes behind Snyder.

Rounding out the top seven for the tournament were Derek Berg of PNW Golf Academy in fourth, Brian Thornton of Meridian Valley in fifth, Conner Robbins of North Shore.

The event raised $39,500 for Folds of Honor and $39,500 for American Lake Veteran GC.
