Jay Don Blake defeats Mark O’Meara in second playoff hole at the Boeing Classic at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge
It was a battle on the last day of the Boeing Classic with at least six players at one point in position to win the event. In the end, Jay Don Blake and Mark O’Meara battled it out in the final holes of the Boeing Classic.

Blake moved to the top of the leaderboard when he birdied 15, but O’Meara tied the lead when he birdied the last three holes, which led to a playoff. After both players narrowly missed birdie putts on the first playoff hole, they went back to 18 again. Blake chipped his third down to within a foot for a birdie, while O’Meara’s third shot ended up 16 feet away. O’Meara missed his birdie putt and Blake tapped in for the win. It was an exciting finish in front of 28,000 cheering fans at the TPC Snoqualmie Ridge Golf Course.

Mika Miyazato captures first win at Safeway Classic
Mika Miyazato finished with a 2-under 70 to beat Brittany Lincicome and Inbee Park by two strokes at the Safeco Classic. The 22-year-old Miyazato finished at 13-under for a 203 total in her wire-to-wire victory on Pumpkin Ridge’s Ghost Creek Course. She shared the first-round lead and had a two-shot advantage after the second. Michelle Wie had her first top-10 finish of the season, shooting a 69 to finish eighth at 8 under.
