Prante holds off amateurs to win Oregon Open

PGA Professional Shane Prante of The Home Course (DuPont, Wash.) won the Pelzer Golf Oregon Open Invitational at Eagle Crest – Ridge Course.

Prante won the tournament by two strokes after firing rounds of 67-65-70-202 and finishing 14 under par for the three rounds.

He held off a quartet of amateurs to win the championship. Amateurs Issac Buerger or Eagle Crest and Cole Rueck of Corvallis tied for second at 12 under par while amateurs Zach Foushee of Willamette Valley and Dylan Cramer of Widgi Creek tied for fourth along with professional David Phay of Whidbey Island at 11 under par.

Winning the Oregon Open Team Championship is PGA Professional Glenn Beatty, PGA Professional Luke Olson, amateur Casey Kaelin and Barry Brunenkant.

Winning the Four-Ball competition was PGA Professional Blake Snyder and amateur Graham Moody who fired a two-day total of 20 under par.

The Pelzer Golf Oregon Open was the second major championship for the Pacific Northwest PGA after the Northwest Invitational. Next up will be the Rosauers Invitational in Spokane in July followed by the Washington Open Invitational in August.
