The Pacific Amateur Golf Classic is quickly becoming one of the top events for amateurs in the United States. And this year, the event will continue its new dates and has added a new title sponsor as well.

The new title sponsor is GolfWorld magazine.

The tournament, which takes place Aug. 29-Sept. 2 at Bend-area golf courses, has grown to nearly 800 players and looks to keep on growing with time. Tournament director Mike Patron expects the field to fill this year with golfers from around the country.

The tournament has been held for 14 years in the Central Oregon area and is run by the Central Oregon Visitors Association.

Players will play three tournament rounds before the top players from each division get together at Pronghorn for the championship round. Net scores are used throughout the week of play.

There are divisions for golfers of all ages, including men, women and seniors.
