Northwest golfer claims title at Golf Channel Amateur Tour

Oakley Murphy of Riverbend Golf Course in Kent, Wash. won the championship division at the Golf Channel Amateur National Championship in La Quinta.

Murphy, playing in the division for players of handicap 3.9 or less, rallied after shooting an opening round 82 with rounds of 71-68-73 to win the division,. He made a five-foot par putt on the final hole to force a playoff and then won on the first hole of the playoff at PGA West.
