New business in Lynnwood offers a chance to play Pebble Beach, drink, eat and socialize
When Steve Levy saw a potential customer walk through the front door, his eyes lit up. He quickly got up front from his chair, shook the guy’s hand and went into a spirited talk about his new business called the Clubhouse Golf Center in Lynnwood. He talked about the hitting stations, the bar, the food, and the big-screen televisions. He even invited the guy to play a few holes.
“There’s a lot to be excited about this business,” said Levy, who opened the Clubhouse Golf Center in December. “There’s nothing really like it around. I think people will like what they see when they come here and tee it up.”
Just walking in through the front doors you get the idea that the Clubhouse Golf Center is special. The front doors are automatic sliders and open from left to right. “We want people who are carrying clubs to be able to walk in without holding a door and banging their clubs, on the door,” said Levy.
What greets the eyes through the front doors is the ultimate sports bar for golfers. There are six hitting stations, each with the chance to play over 40 courses including some of the heavyweights like Pebble Beach, St. Andrews and Bethpage Black. In fact, the guy who came in on this day said he was going to St. Andrews next May and playing a simulated game at St. Andrews was a great warm-up for the trip.
There are televisions everywhere, including a big screen over the bar – and the bar is fully stocked and has every drink a golfer would want. There is also a loaded kitchen with what Levy likes to call “golfer’s grub.”
And just to make sure this is the ultimate golfer’s paradise, there is even a Golden Tee video game in the corner of the bar.
Levy has been in the video game industry for years and has always liked golf. He decided to try and mix the two. Along with his wife Terra, they researched and came up with the idea of the Clubhouse Golf Center. The Levy’s wears plenty of hats; he’s an owner, chef, janitor, caddy and bartender. But they like them all.
As far as the location, Levy did his homework saying that within 25 miles of their new facility there are 45 different golf businesses from golf courses to driving ranges to golf shops. “We think we have a winner with this,” said Levy. “And so far, so good.”
