Whistler, B.C. may be best known for its winter sports but B. C. locals know that golf is the word at Whistler in the summer months. Places like Nicklaus North give golfers a big reason to head to Whistler during the summer months to play golf amidst the tall trees, mountains and lakes. Nicklaus North is one of those rare courses designed by the Golden Bear to bear his name.

Snowcapped Whistler peaks. A brilliant emerald-colored lake. Majestic fir trees. Fresh, invigorating mountain air. Whistler Golf at its Finest.

This is the setting that inspired the great Nicklaus to create a golf course as unique as himself. This par 71, 18-hole course winds along a gentle valley floor offering a spectacular setting as your golfing skills will be tested to the fullest. Winner of numerous awards since its opening in 1996, Nicklaus North has played host to events such as the Skins Game and the Shell’s Wonderful World of Golf, welcoming some of golf’s biggest names such as Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo, Ernie Els, Greg Norman, Fred Couples, John Daly, Vijay Singh and Stephen Ames.

Just minutes from the resort village of Whistler, British Columbia, Nicklaus North stands out as one of the great courses in North America. It’s no wonder this is only one of a few rare golf courses in the world bearing Nicklaus name.

To complement this challenging 18-hole course is a terrific clubhouse and restaurant. The closing holes at Nicklaus North will keep focused – from the par-4 16th hole with water running across the fairway to the dramatic par-3 17th hole with a carry over water. The mountain views and scenery make it hard to keep your mind on golf.

Also at the course is the GBC Golf Academy where you can take lessons on all aspects of your game . And don’t forget about the outdoor activities during the summer months from hiking to mountain biking to zip lining.
