John Cassidy of Alderbrook G&YC put together rounds of 74 and 68 for a 142 total to win the Pacific Northwest PGA Assistant Champions event by one stroke over Shane Prante of Fort Steilacoom.

Cassidy, Prante and Grant Lancaster of Useless Bay G&CC will represent the Pacific Northwest section of the PGA at the 2016 National Car Rental Assistant PGA Professional Championship at PGA Golf Club’s Wanamaker course, October 27-30, 2016.

This year’s Assistant Championship marks the 40th Anniversary as a National event but the PNW Section has been conducting the event since Fred Pelzer donated the trophy in 1965.

Cassidy came from behind to win the event after coming up with a 68 in the second round. Prante had rounds of 72 and 71 for 143 total while Lancaster finished with rounds of 72-72.
