If you haven’t been to Allenmore Golf Course in Tacoma in a few years, you just might not recognize the place. Sure, the championship 18-hole course owned by the Tacoma Elks, is still as challenging as ever, but there is much more off the course that is new.

When the Tacoma Elks sold off its clubhouse across the street from Allenmore Golf Course a few years ago, the club decided it was time to build a new facility next to the golf course and combine everything on one side of the street.

There are annual memberships to be had at the Tacoma Elks and they include all kinds of perks like special pricing for golf and carts, access to a sports bar with more special pricing and menus, a fitness center and discounts on pro shop purchases and meals.

The Urban Elks Restaurant opened last year and is operated by the same family that runs Al Lago Restaurants, the Cliff House and Verrazano’s. The golf course and event center are the “hidden gems” of Tacoma, says Ron Hack, the Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

The Allenmore Golf and Event Center is more than just golf and food. There are private rooms for functions of up to 200 people including a pavilion that can seat up to 100.

The Tacoma Elks Lodge is an organization that supports local veterans and facilities at American Lake through donations of supplies, equipment and more, The Washington Elk’s Children’s Therapy Program, providing occupational therapy in home and the Elks National Foundation Grant, which are used to help underprivileged children.

The Allenmore Men’s Club has over 300 members and offers tournaments throughout the year. The annual men’s club dues are $60 until March 1st then $65 after that.

The Tacoma Elks is offering a deal if you join the organization you get three months of use of the fitness center for free. Elks membership is $156 for the year and initiation of $50. For info call 253.272.1117.
