There is plenty to like about golfing in the Arizona desert, the warm temperatures, sunny days and desert-style golf courses. You can find all of that – and more – at Quintero Golf Club.

Quintero, located less than an hour north of Phoenix’ Sky Harbor Airport, is situated in Peoria but there is really no town around. This is a place you can’t see from the highway and a place where seclusion is the operative word.

The Rees Jones-designed golf courses has been ranked the Best Public Golf Course for 2016 in Arizona by Golf Digest and Golf Weekly magazine and is ranked No. 1 in Arizona by Golf Advisor. Plenty of awards – and the courses seemingly deserves all of those accolades.

Quintero is the kind of course you must see it to believe. The 18 holes are carved near the mountains and features plenty of elevation changes along the way. The entire property is surrounded by Federal lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management adding to the feeling of privacy everywhere you turn. The course plays to 7,200 yards from the tips and features plenty of terrific views along the way.

The par-3 holes are a collection of some of the top par-3 holes on a golf course with several featuring dramatic elevation changes.

The golf course might be the big draw, but stay and play packages have helped keep the people coming back for more. Condos are available on site for overnight stays. The condos are adjacent to a pool, Jacuzzi, barbeque entertaining area and local activities include swimming, walking, hiking, biking and boating is available at nearby Lake Pleasant.

The High Sonoran Desert offers a backdrop for the golf course as well as the Hieroglyphic Mountains.
