NW players qualify for USGA Four-Ball

The sides of Britten Barker (Gig Harbor, Wash.) and Luke Easterly (Sammamish, Wash.) and John D’Amelio (Bothell, Wash.) and Tyler Matthews (Bellevue, Wash.) each teamed for a 7-under 64 to earn co-medalist honors; while Emersyn Walker (DuPont, Wash.) and Anastacia Johnson (Tacoma, Wash.) combined for a 4-over 76 to earn medalist honors in sectional qualifying for the 2020 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball and U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball championships, respectively.

The Men’s and Women’s sectional qualifiers were held concurrently at Chambers Bay in University Place, Wash.

The sides of Barker and Easterly and D’Amelio and Matthews both advanced after a playoff as three teams were tied at 7-under after 18-holes. In the Women’s qualifier, the side of Walker and Johnson is the only team advancing.

These two Men’s teams will now go on to compete in the 2020 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship, to be held May 23-27 at Philadelphia (Pa.) Cricket Club. The side of Emersyn Walker and Anastacia Johnson will now compete in the 2020 U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball, to be held April 25-29 at Quail Creek Country Club in Naples, Fla.
