Alderbrook: Right on the canal

Alderbrook Golf Club is set in a classic Northwest wooded setting in Union, Washington. With a well-maintained and challenging golf course, Alderbrook should be on everyone’s list of must-play courses.

Alderbrook is a member-owned course, but is also open to the public. So everyone can enjoy its scenic views of the Olympic Mountains on the golf course as well as a hot meal and a cold drink from the Grill Room.

The most talked about hole is the 8th, a double dogleg par 5 that stretches to 536 yards. Playing to 6,326 yards from the back tees, Alder brook’s finishing hole is one of the best in the Northwest – the dog-leg right fairway plays down a long hill to a recently renovated green guarded by a newly extended pond, making this difficult hole even more of a challenge.

The course is located on a hill above Hood Canal, with overnight lodging available at the Alderbrook Resort and Spa on the shoreline near the entrance to the course. A new clubhouse was also unveiled just last spring adding more space for everything including banquet facilities.
