Coston wins Senior Washington Open

Jeff Coston, the director of instruction at Semiahmoo, continued his hot play by winning the Senior Washington Invitational at the Cedars at Dungeness in Sequim, Wash.

Coston opened with a 62 and then followed up with rounds of 70 and 67 for a total of 199. Coston had earlier won the Washington Open Invitational at Meridian Valley and made the cut in the Senior PGA Championship in Michigan.

Scott Krieger of Broadmoor Golf Club in Portland was second at 202 – shooting three rounds in the 60’s,

Billy Bomar of Prairie Falls in Idaho and Rob Gibbons of Arrowhead in Molalla, Ore. tied for third at 206.

Coston collected a first-place check of $5,000 for winning the championship.

Tom Sovay of the Golf Club at Redmond Ridge was fifth while Todd Erwin of Tacoma Golf Center and Jeff Tachell of Mount Si tied for sixth place.
