Mallard Creek Golf Course in Lebanon is reeling this winter after its clubhouse burned down. The fire in the clubhouse was so intense, firefighters took a defense approach, meaning no crews were allowed inside to battle the flames.
An electrical malfunction in a circuit breaker in an upstairs electrical panel caused the fire that caused $1.3 million damage.
The golf course, about 90 minutes south of downtown Portland, was open for business later in the day. Their temporary office is in an RV park.
The 3-alarm fire was under control by 2 a.m. and mostly out by 7:55 a.m., the fire department said.
