The nine Pac-10 and 12 Southeastern Conference women’s golf teams who gathered for the final round of the inaugural Pac-10/SEC Challenge at Stanford Golf Course were hammered by rain storms throughout the day in the final round.

The weather suited the NW-tested Husky golf team – who were 14-over par and tied for sixth after 36 holes – fine, but they were unable to take advantage. Washington’s five golfers combined to shoot a 24-over 308 and ended up tied for ninth-place with No. 4 ranked California at +36.

The tournament featured many of the NCAA’s best squads, including seven teams ranked among Golfstat.com’s top-10 and 12 top-25 teams overall. Washington, ranked No. 30, more than held its own, beating or tying seven teams ranked higher than them, including No. 1 LSU.

No. 5 UCLA ended up winning the tournament by 11 strokes after firing an 856 (+4). Third-ranked Alabama was second at +15, followed by No. 2 USC (+23). Arizona was fourth (+25), with Auburn (5th, +27), Stanford and Georgia (T6th, +30) and Tennessee (8th, +34).
