NW professionals punch PGA Championship tickets
The Pacific Northwest will be well represented at this year’s PGA Championship...
PGA Professional Brian Thornton of Meridian Valley CC (Kent, WA) won the Northwest Open Invitational at Wine Valley Golf Club in Walla Walla after firing a final round score of 66, 6 under par for a three day total of 204, 12 under par. He won by one stroke over professional Brandon Kearney of Bend G&CC (Bend, OR) and amateur Michael Haack of Meridian Valley.
It was Thornton’s third major. He has previously won the 2007 PGA Professional Championship and 2009 Washington Open Invitational.
