Tacoma Firs duo claims crown at Pro-Assistants

The team from Tacoma Firs Golf Center (Tacoma, Wash.) with head professional Todd Erwin and assistant professional Derek Barron won the Pro-Assistant Championship after posting rounds of 64-62 –126 at Meridian Valley Country Club.

Erwin and Barron dominated the event winning by nine shots over five teams including Darren Black and Carl Hetterle of Rainier, Brent Murray and Scott Erdmann of Oswego Lake, Bryan Tunstill and Tyler Wong of Columbia Edgewater, Tunstill and Adrian Burtner of Columbia Edgewater and Mike Gove and Matt Epstein of Inglewood Golf Club.

Erwin and Barron won $2,500 for the two-day event while the second-place teams collected $1,480. Sean Fredrickson from Tualatin made a hole-in-one on the 12th hole in the final round.
