American Junior Golf Association alumnus and PGA Tour player and Northwest native Ryan Moore will partner with the AJGA in 2013 to host a national junior golf event, July 1-4. The Ryan Moore Junior Championship will be held at RMG Club at Oakbrook in Lakewood, Wash. The 54-hole, stroke play event will feature 96 of the nation’s top male and female junior golfers ages 12-18.
This is the first time since 2010 the AJGA has conducted an event in Washington. It will be the first AJGA event for RMG Club, Moore’s golf course management company founded in 2012.
A two-time Rolex Junior All-American, Moore recorded five top-10 finishes and three AJGA victories, including the 1999 AJGA Boise Junior Classic at Warm Springs and the 2001 HP Junior Championship at Trophy Lake.
