Rhee claims title at Northwest Women’s Open

Former University of Washington golfer Sarah Rhee shot a two-round total of 139 to win the championship of the Northwest Women’s Open Presented by Pacific Northwest Equipment at Twin Lakes Golf and Country Club in Federal Way.

Rhee fired an opening-round 2-under 70 and then followed up with a 3-under 69 to win the tournament by two shots over Tori Peers of Las Vegas and by three shots over former Seattle University golfer and Symetra Tour player Jamie Huo. Rhee collected a first-place check of $2,000 for winning the title.

Cassie Kim of Yakima was the low amateur at 143 finishing fourth while former University of Oregon player Kathleen Scavo finished fifth at 145. Julie Wells-Keller was fifth at 147 and Kelli Bowers of Chelan was sixth at 148. Defending champion Jessica Maynard tied for seventh with Taya Batistella of Bellingham at 149.

Debby King was the low senior of the tournament with a score of 159.
