Pacific Northwest’s new courses

Here is a listing of courses that opened in 2009 and will open in 2010 the Pacific Northwest.

Washington

• LAST YEAR: Wine Valley Golf Club. Ranked as one of the top new courses in the country by several publications. Will host the Northwest Open Invitational this year for the professionals from around the Pacific Northwest.

• COMING SOON: Nothing on the drawing board.

Oregon

• LAST YEAR: Desert Falls Golf and Country Club in Hermiston.

• THIS YEAR: Bandon Dunes Old MacDonald Course will open in June. Tom Doak designed the course to give Bandon Dunes Resort its fourth golf course now, joining Bandon Dunes, Pacific Dunes and Bandon Trails.

• THIS YEAR: Club at Paradise Ranch in Grants Pass. This course was co-designed by Jack Nicklaus and his son Jack Nicklaus Jr. and will open in Southern Oregon. The course will open this summer for play.

• THIS YEAR: Northwest designer Dan Hixson completed a re-model of the nine-hole Crestview in Waldport which will open for play this year.

Idaho

• LAST YEAR: Black Rock North in Coeur d’Alene. Second course for the private facility opened and gives the club two championship courses.

• LAST YEAR: Sun Valley’s new Course designed at Sun Valley resort is called White Clouds.

• THIS YEAR: Huntsman Springs in Driggs is a David McLay Kidd design scheduled to open this summer.

• THIS YEAR: Galena Ridge in Kellogg was designed by John Thronson and is owned by Jeld-Wen, which owns and operates some of the top resorts in the Pacific Northwest. The project is expected to be completed this summer in Kellogg.
