Oregon golfer goes low in final round, wins Intercollegiate

Nick Taylor shot his third-consecutive under-70 round at the U.S. Intercollegiate at Stanford Golf Course to finish second overall in the individual standings and the Huskies collectively finished third in the team standings.

Taylor entered the final round tied for the lead but was overtaken by Oregon’s Danny Miernicki, who shot a blistering 6-under 64 to claim medalist honors.

For the third consecutive day the Huskies shot a combined 1-over-par 281 and finished +3 (281-281-281-843). Oregon, led by Miernicki, finished 1-under overall to win the team title. San Diego State was second at +2, followed by the Huskies, Oregon State and UCLA. Washington won this event in 2009.
