The WinCo Foods Portland Open is the place where the top 25 players on the Korn Ferry Tour get to graduate and earn their PGA Tour cards for the following season. There was some local flavor this year as Portland’s Scott Harrington finished second in the tournament and earned one of those 25 cards.

It was a terrific ending for the 38-year-old Harrington, who has spent the last couple of years dealing with his wife Jenn’s cancer battle. She is now cancer free. He went back to the tour full time this year and ended up with his PGA Tour card for 2020.

Harrington led after three rounds but Bo Hoag shot a final-round 65 at Pumpkin Ridge’s Witch Hollow to win the tournament by two shots.
