Lynnwood junior golfer is named HP Scholastic winner

Kimberly Santiago of Lynnwood, Wash., has been named an HP Scholastic Junior All-American, the American Junior Golf Association and HP announced Wednesday. This is the second year she has been named an HP Scholastic Junior All-American. Sponsored by HP since 1988, the team consists of 12 young men and 12 young women who demonstrate the ability to excel both on the golf course and in the classroom.

A senior at Edmonds-Woodway High School, Santiago has a 3.9 GPA in the International Baccalaureate Program, scored a 33 on the ACT and is a member of the National Honor Society. An active member of the community, Santiago is a midnight blue belt in Taekwondo, and plays principal viola in the Cascade Youth Symphony and the Edmonds-Woodway Chamber Orchestra. On the course, her best finishes came when she tied for fifth at the Rochester Open Championship and tied for sixth at the Deutsche Bank Partners for Charity Junior Shoot Out.
