The LPGA Tour returned to the Seattle area with some fireworks at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship at Sahalee Country Club.

Canadian Brooke Henderson sank a 3-foot birdie putt on the first playoff hole to beat Lydia Ko to win the tournament. It was a battle of teenagers between the 18-year-old Henderson and the 19-year-old Ko.

Henderson led the tournament after the first round but did not reclaim the top spot on the leaderboard until her clinching putt on the first playoff hole – Sahalee’s 18th hole. Both players were 6-under-par for the tournament while Henderson had the low round of the tournament with a 6-under 65 in the final round.

It was the second win in the Pacific Northwest for Henderson as she won the Cambia Portland Classic as a Monday qualifier last year.
