Kyle Stanley hosted AJGA junior event at Canterwood

Pacific Northwest PGA Tour star Kyle Stanley hosted his own American Junior Golf Association event at Canterwood Country Club in Gig Harbor and it was event that featured some of the top junior players from around the country.

On the girl’s side, Jieming Yang of Florida won the three-day tournament at 1-over par, winning by seven shots over Lana Calibuso-Kwee of Hawaii. Claire Xu of Federal Way, Wash. was the top finisher from the Pacific Northwest finishing in a tie for third, seven shots behind the winner. Julia Bordeaux of Tacoma was eighth while Lily McCauley of Olympia was 111th.

On the boy’s side, Davis Cooper of Kansas won with a 1-under-par total for three rounds. Akshay Anand of Redmond, Wash. was the top Northwest finisher, taking third place. Ethan Evans of Mercer Island was 8th while Preston Bebich of Gig Harbor was ninth.
