Golfweek Portland’s Amateur Tour completes inaugural 36-hole major

The Pacific Northwest Masters, Day 1 held at Orchard Hills CC in Washougal started the event with a difficult tree-lined course that provides a unique challenge for players of all skill levels. Stuart Blighton of Vancouver led the field with a low score of 77. Five players were separated by 4 shots at the top of the leader board. 

Champ Flight was a battle with Geoff Rodgers and Carl Leonard jockeying for position. The round went back and forth all day with Geoff Rodgers pulling away over the last 3 holes. Geoff shot 80-77 = 157 to take 1st place. 

A Flight culminated with a 1-hole playoff after Stotz Thoda shot 77 to tie for 1st with Ed Lee. Ed Lee took the trophy home with a consistent 81-80 = 161 total. 

 B Flight Winner: Stuart Blighton 77-84 = 161

 C Flight Winner: Daniel Carey 91-90 = 181

 D Flight Winner: Tim Falls 98 – 95 = 183

During the second half of the season, the Portland Tour is giving away Founding Member Status. Players will receive the option of a free 2020 or 2021 Membership, $125 Credit, 1 Year Golfweek Subscription, Tour Swag Bag, 2021 Member Dues, and Gift.
