Driving range in Everett adds Toptracer technology
If you have watched professional golf on television, you have no doubt seen those colored lines flying through the air when they hit their shots. That technology is called Toptracer – and it has changed the way the game is watched.

In July, that technology has made its way to Columbia Super Range in Everett with the introduction of Toptracer to the customers – and so far, so good.

Columbia Super Range is part of the Columbia Athletic Club and turns 20 years old this year. The range features 50 stalls, 30 heated and all are lit. Seven of its 50 hitting stations have Toptracer, with each bay getting a monitor screen to show the flight of the ball, carry distance, total distance and much more.

“This technology is very exciting for us to have” said Val Patrick. “It will give players a chance to see how their ball flight accuracy is in practice, and gives our staff another tool to use when working with our students.”

Toptracer is more than just some lines on a screen. The technology provides a launch monitor, games–closest to the pin, a points game, long drive, virtual golf courses–and what’s in my bag. It gives golfers quick feedback on the flight of their shots to the different targets on the range, ball speed and more.

A player has the option of saving their practice sessions if they choose to use the Toptracer app. Columbia Super Range has a 1.3-acre practice area that is all grass and features holes where you can chip and putt and work on your short game. There is also a large putting green and practice bunker, one of the hidden gems in our area for practicing the short game.

Columbia Super Range has two full time instructors, Val Patrick- LPGA and Chuck Notestone-PGA, and two part-time PGA instructors, Steve Reuhl and Kevin Mackay. There are weekly clinics for women, men, seniors and juniors, girls golf, as well as junior camps.

Memberships are available ranging from $75 per year for juniors to $110 for individuals. Membership has its privileges too with a 30-minute free lesson, access for free to the pitch and putt course, five guest passes to the Columbia Athletic Club and five free buckets of range balls.
