ClubCorp, The World Leader in Private Clubs, announced the acquisition of Canterwood Golf & Country Club in Gig Harbor, Washington. The purchase of Canterwood, a private club, marks the fourth acquisition in 2011 for ClubCorp, which will immediately begin a more than $1 million capital improvement project on the property. Canterwood Golf & Country Club, a centerpiece of the community, features a Robert Muir Graves-designed 18-hole, 7,175-yard championship golf course, named one of the Top 10 Golf Courses in the state of Washington by both Golf Digest and Golf Magazine.

Canterwood Golf & Country Club, located in the greater Seattle-Tacoma area and offering spectacular views of Mount Rainier, will complement ClubCorp’s portfolio of more than 150 golf and country clubs, business clubs, sports clubs, and alumni clubs. The addition of Canterwood also provides a perfect counterpart to Columbia Tower Club, one of Seattle’s premier business clubs, that was until now the sole club in the ClubCorp family located in Washington state.

Members of the prior club owner and new golf members who join prior to October 10, 2011, will have the opportunity to sign up for ClubCorp’s industry-leading Signature Gold program dues.
