Circling Raven Golf Club – the No. 1-rated public course in Idaho and amenity of Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel –has announced that the Circling Raven Championship, a Symetra Tour “Road to the LPGA” event, will be canceled this season.

The inaugural event was scheduled for Aug. 24-30, 2020, the first in a three-year partnership with the Tour. It was to have featured a full field of competitors battling for $200,000 in prize money.

But the Symetra Tour event will return in 2021 to Circling Raven.

But there are other tournaments in the Pacific Northwest that have been cancelled for 2020.

The Suquamish Clearwater Legends Cupp, featuring the LPGA Legends Tour, was scheduled for this month and has been cancelled. The event will return in 2021. Nancy Lopez had been scheduled to play in this year’s event before it was shutdown for 2020.

The Rosauers Invitational, one of the major tournaments for the Northwest professionals and amateurs, will not be played this year at Indian Canyon. The event had been set for July.

Other professional events set for the Pacific Northwest are still on the calendar, including the WinCo Foods Portland Open at Pumpkin Ridge Aug. 6-9; the Boeing Classic at Snoqualmie Ridge Golf Club featuring the PGA Tour Champs on Aug. 21-23 and the LPGA Portland Cambia Classic has been moved to Sept. 17-20 at Columbia Edgewater Country Club.
