Champions crowned at junior event

Drew Woolworth of Lake Oswego, OR won the 2023 Pacific Northwest Boys Junior PGA Championship at The Home Course.

Woolworth will have the opportunity to join the nation’s top junior golfers in the PGA of America’s premium junior event, the 47th Junior PGA Championship, hosted at Hot Springs Country Club in Hot Springs Arkansas. The 47th Junior PGA Championship will be held from August 1-4, 2023.

Woolworth, 16, shot a total of 142 for the Championship and edged out Grady Millar of Vancouver, WA.

Emma Wong, 17, shot a total of 147 for the Championship and edged out Suzie Tran of Poulsbo, WA and Annie Jin of Bellevue, WA by one stroke.

Each of the 41 PGA of America Sections will send 4 players to Illinois. Therefore, Drew Woolworth, Grady Millar, Emma Wong and Suzie Tran will be competing at Hot Springs CC.

    • Winning the Boys 13-15 age division was Lucas Williams of Seattle, WA.  Clinton Carson of Chelan, WA finished second.

    • Winning the Girls 13-15 age division was Cienna Lee of Lacey, WA.  Hannah Wendorf of Lake Oswego, OR finished second.

    • Sinjin Tran of Sammamish, WA won the Boys 12 & Under.  Christian Harlow of Vancouver, WA finished second.

    • Ira Upadhyay of Issaquah, WA won the Girls 12 & Under.  Bella Xiong of Bellevue, WA finished second.
