Wildhorse Resort, Ocean Dunes both are good bets when fall golf arrives

Terrific fall golf in the state of Oregon can be found all over the state – from the coast to the eastern part of the state. Here is a look at Three Rivers Casino and Ocean Dunes on the coast and Wildhorse Resort in Pendleton.

Ocean Dunes in Florence, Ore.

• The Three Rivers Casino stretches over two towns on the Oregon Coast – Florence and Coos Bay. With casinos in both cities, The Three Rivers Casino Resort offers plenty of places to stay and play. The Florence location offers three on-site restaurants and is also the home of the resort’s golf course, Ocean Dunes Golf Links. Ocean Dunes is a treat as you play through the trees and the sand dunes of the Oregon Coast. The Coos Bay location opened in 2015 and offers a 15,000 square foot casino floor with over 250 games. Wild Horse in Pendleton, Ore.

Designed by legendary golf architect, John Steidel, the Wildhorse Resort Golf Course can play long or short with four sets of tees ranging from 5,718 yards at the front to 7,128 yards from the championship tees. The course also plays host to the Oregon Senior Open every year and this year’s LPGA Ladies Classic Aug. 14-20. There is a driving range, practice green, and a newly expanded full service Pro Shop and swing simulator. Golf Course at Birch Creek

 Nestled near the site of a historic encampment of the Cayuse Indians lies a 248-acre golf oasis. Formally known as Pendleton Country Club, the Golf Course at Birch Creek is now owned by the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation and operated by Wildhorse Resort & Casino. Located just seven miles south of town, the par 72 golf course settles gently into rolling wheat fields and is divided by the meandering Birch Creek where golfers can see native fish or roaming deer as you make your drive.
