Tamarack Resort’s Osprey Meadows re-opens for play

Idaho’s Tamarack Resort is back in business in a big way – truly becoming America’s only Golf ski, and lake resort. The resort, which sits 90 minutes north of Boise, has re-opened  its 18-hole Osprey Meadows championship golf course during the 2024 season, to complement the existing outdoor activities.

While the all-season resort has operated since December 2004, the award-winning course shut down 11 years ago and sat idle. But new owners have gone above and beyond in investing in all aspects of the resort, from finishing its pedestrian-friendly alpine Village to re-opening Osprey Meadows while adding plenty of new amenities.

The Osprey Meadows Golf Course has been renovated with holes 3, 4 and 16 being completely rebuilt with new tees, greens and raised fairways. Specific bunkers were either removed or made smaller to make entry into greens wider. And the number of forced carries were cut down. Architect Robert Trent Jones II and his team including Bruce Charlton have made the course a must-play, reimagining holes to improve overall playability while adding a unique 19th Gambler’s hole.

Off the course, there is plenty to do at Tamarack Resort. There are now 54 miles of lift-served and cross-country trails for all levels of bike riders, a free summer concert series in the new amphitheater, and motorized and non-motorized fun on Lake Cascade. The new Mid-Mountain Lodge for the resort’s 20th anniversary season opened as well as with 1,530 acres of diverse, skiable terrain.
