Penner wins Tacoma Open crown

Kevin Penner of Sammamish won the Tacoma Open at Meadow Park Golf Course with a three-round total of 199. He beat out Christopher Evans who finished at 200.

Penner won a first-place check of $10,000 for the win, which attracted some of the Pacific Northwest’s touring professionals including Troy Kelly and Andres Gonzales.

Penner opened with rounds of 66 and 70 but came from behind with a 63 in the final round. Professionals and amateurs both competed.
