Overlake golfer claims title at Washington State Women’s Golf Association Championship

Flora Weeks of Overlake Golf and Country Club in Bellevue won the Washington State Women’s Golf Association championship beating Leslie Folsom of Rainier Golf and Country Club 2&1 in the championship final at Sand Point Country Club.

Weeks is a 2012 graduate of Middlebury College in Vermont where she played college golf. She was a three-time conference champion and two-time All-American.

In other flights, Jenny park of Skagit beat Robin Cole of Yakima 2-up to win the first flight; Sammie Pless of Glen Acres beat Ann Johnson of Meridian Valley 4&3 to win the second flight; Sharon Falkner of Meridian Valley beat Carrie Simchuk of Sand Point on the 19th hole to claim the third flight.

Other flight winners included Barbara Tracy of Bear Creek; Derval Langan of Sand Point; Doris Rogers of Rainier; Julie Turner of Sand Point; Porsche Everson of Glen Acres and Lea Carlson of Sand Point.
