Northwest college golfers named Ping All-Americans for 2010 year

Oregon State senior Diego Velasquez, University of Oregon sophomore Eugene Wong and Washington senior Nick Taylor were among those honored as PING First Team All-Americans for Division I announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Velasquez, a senior from Bogota, Colombia, becomes Oregon State’s third All-American in men’s golf and first ever first team selection. Anthony Arvidson, 2001, and Bob Allard, 1969 each were honorable mention All-Americans.

Wong, the co-Pac-10 Golfer of the Year, was a two-time medalist this season, leading Oregon to a No. 1 national ranking at the conclusion of the regular season.
