Score workshops connect small bushiness owners with mentors who help them lay out a bushiness plan. At one of the Score workshops Willis Olson met Jay Thompson who was working as a mentor and the two found that they had similar skills and interests and hit it off immediately.

Thompson had played golf for a living in tournaments in California and Mexico and realized the importance of the mental side of the game so he enrolled in the American Hypnotherapy School in Honolulu. He has written three golf books: EFT The Science of Deliberate Practice, Let the Good Putts Roll and Golf for Beginners.

Willis Olson’s interest in the minds affect on sports performance began when he was running marathons regularly. He spent over five years studying the effect of mental management on sports performance. Along the way Olson switched his passion from running to golf and began studying the specific mental techniques as it relates to golf performance. He has studied hypnotherapy and is a registered clinical hypnotherapist.

Thompson and Olson have combined their knowledge and skills to start a monthly school called Mental Golf Clinic where they hope to appeal to the passionate golfers, much like themselves.

The clinics teach how to harness the use of the mind as it relates to golf permanence. They teach relaxation techniques, how to block out negative and confusing thoughts, visualization techniques and how to “get into the zone.”
