PNW Section PGA raises nearly $100,000 in 100-hole event

The Senior Oregon Open Invitational at Wildhorse Resort in Pendleton seems to be old hat for PGA Professional Ryan Malby of Kalispel, MT. Malby won his fourth straight Senior Oregon Open Invitational at Wildhorse Resort by four shots.
Amateur Jim Ryder of Aldarra GC (Falls City, WA) placed third and won low amateur honors.
Malby put together rounds of 65-69-67 for a 201 total to win the tournament by four shots – and becoming a winner four times in a row.
Mark Knowles of McCormick Woods finished second at 205 while Ryder took the top amateur honors by finishing third.
Birk Nelson of Orange Whip and Fitness tied for fourth and amateur Chris Boquette of Banbury Golf Club at 208 while amateur Brad Karns of Larz Golf tied for sixth with Tom Sovay of Redmond Ridge with three-round totals of 209.
Winning the team competition of one gross, one net at 90% handicap was the team led by PGA Professional John Freitas with amateurs Mike Swingle, Mike Koczarski and Jim Ryder with an impressive 36 under par for the 36-hole competition.
It marked the 23rd straight year that Wildhorse Resort and Casino has played host to the event featuring the top senior players from the Northwest.
