After four minutes of spirited bidding, the city of Deer Park (north of Spokane) purchased the Deer Park Golf Course from Warren Development. The city’s winning bid was $850,000 in an auction conducted by Williams and Williams. In addition to the selling price, the city also purchased $210,000 in real property, which includes various buildings and 65 golf carts.
Mayor Robert Whisman, who did the bidding for the city, was surprised when told he had the winning bid.
“For that price, it is a real asset for the city,” said the mayor, who had set $850,000 as the bid limit.
The city said they will look at bringing in a management company to take over.
