Coston rallies with 64 in final round to capture Washington Senior Open

Jeff Coston of Semiahmoo Resort in Blaine, Wash. rallied with a 64 in the final round to win the Washington Senior Open at the Cedars at Dungeness in Sequim. It was Coston’s 10th victory in the tournament.

Coston finished with a three-round total of 201, shooting rounds of 71-66-64 along the way. In his final round, Coston had eight birdies, including birdies on the 17th and 18th holes to get past Joey Carranza of Aldarra Golf Club, who finished second at 202.

Coston collected a first-place check of $5,000 for winning the tournament.

Amateur Tom Brandes of Glendale Country Club tied for third at 203 along with Rob Gibbons of Arrowhead Golf Club. Todd Erwin of Tacoma Golf Center was fifth at 205, Tom Sovay of the Golf Club at Redmond Ridge was sixth at 206, Jim Pike of Sahalee Country Club was seventh at 207 and Billy Bomar of Prairie Falls tied for eighth with Jeff Marsh of Vancouver and Brent Murray of Oswego Lake at 208.
