Coston, Prugh qualify for PGA Championship with top finishes at Club Pro

The Pacific Northwest will be represented at the PGA Championship Aug. 9-12 at Kiawah Island’s Ocean Course. The fourth of the season major championships for the PGA Tour will have a solid Pacific Northwest influence.

Jeff Coston of Semiahmoo Resort and Corey Prugh of Manito Golf and Country Club both finished in the top 20 of the National Club Professional Championship and earned tickets to the PGA Championship.

Coston finished sixth at 286 after shooting rounds of 71-72-74-69 while Prugh tied for seventh at 287 with rounds of 70-72-73-72 at the Bayonet Black Horse Golf Club in Seaside, Calif.

Other Pacific Northwest professionals expected to play at the Ocean Course are Kyle Stanley, Ryan Moore, Ben Crane, Robert Garrigus and Troy Kelly.

Other Pacific Northwest professionals to take part in the National Club Pro Tournament included Tim Feenstra, Joey Carranza, Ryan Benzel, Brian Thornton, Brad Faller, Scott Erdmann and Tom Sovay.
