Coston comes from behind to win seventh Senior Oregon Open crown

PGA Professional Jeff Coston of Semiahmoo G&CC (Blaine, Wash.) won his seventh Senior Oregon Open Invitational title by one stroke at Wildhorse Resort in Pendleton, Ore.

He had previously won this event in 2007, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2017 and 2018.

PGA Professional Steve Bowen of Illahe Hills CC (Salem, Ore.) and PGA Professional Rob Gibbons of Arrowhead GC (Molalla, Ore.) finished in a tie for second place, one stroke back of Coston.

Coston finished with a three-round total of 206, 10 under par. He shot a final-round 69 to win the tournament. Bowen and Gibbons finished at 207. Mike Kasch of Pasco, Wash., the first round leader with a 65, finished fourth at 208. Joey Carranza of Aldarra was fifth while Tom Sovay of Redmond Ridge, Billy Bomar of Prairie Falls and amateur Michael Jackson of Pronghorn tied for sixth at 211.

Low amateur honors went to Michael Jackson of Pronghorn GC (Bend, Ore). 

Bob Christensen of Coeur d’ Alene Resort GC (Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho) won the amateur net competition. PGA Professional David Bobillot of Mount Vernon, Wash. won the Super Senior competition of the Senior Oregon Open. Winning the team competition of one gross/one net was the team led by PGA Professional John Freitas of Aldarra GC (Falls City, Wash.), Mike Kennedy, Mike Koczarski and Mike Swingle.
