With an 8.8 USGA Handicap Index, Cindy Anderson of Eugene, Ore. went wire to wire after firing a final round net 3-under par 69 to win by 5-strokes in the Women’s Division at the Oregon Net Championship at the OGA Golf Course in Woodburn, Ore.
The competition was much closer in the Men’s Division as John Mitchell of Prineville, Ore. and Mike Freemont of Portland, Ore. were crowned co-champions after finishing with a two-day net total of 10 under par.
Although there was a large gap in their handicap indexes, with a 21.4 and an 8.5 index respectively, they matched net scores as both players scored 67-67-134.
