As excitement builds for the 2015 U.S. Open at Chambers Bay, Pierce County and the USGA are ready to introduce the championship logo to the community.

The logo, which features Chambers Bay’s trademark sails, will begin appearing on select pieces of merchandise in the Chambers Bay golf shop in October, with more expected to be available by Christmas. Until then, the logo can be seen here.

Chambers Bay, owned by Pierce County, will host the first U.S. Open in the Pacific Northwest from June 18-21, 2015.

“This is a great opportunity for the community to see progress while the Pierce County team works hard behind the scenes to prepare for the greatest championship in golf in just a few short years,” County Executive Pat McCarthy said. “We know that local folks are getting excited about this incredible opportunity, and now they have a way to show that pride to friends and family.”

Designed by Robert Trent Jones II and operated by KemperSports, Chambers Bay is an 18-hole, links-style golf course located just outside of Tacoma and less than an hour south of Seattle. The course, host of the 2010 U.S. Amateur, is situated along the scenic shores of Puget Sound and incorporates public trails, parks and beach access.
