2015 U.S. Open beginning to take shape at Chambers Bay

With less than three months to go the 2015 United States Open at Chambers Bay in University Place, Wash. has started to break ground on tents and bleachers. Construction of the tents at Chambers Bay began in March as well as the groundbreaking for the thousands of bleacher seats for the thousands of fans who will attend the event June 18-21.

Transportation plans are in place and will be announced this month and part of the plans include the public taking free shuttles from parking lots at the Puyallup Fairgrounds and Fort Steilacoom Park in Lakewood.

The professionals will start making appearances at the course to see how it shapes up for the U.S. Open. Chambers Bay will be the first-ever fescue golf course used for a U.S. Open.

The last event to be played prior to the U.S. Open is on the last day the course is open to the public is the May 24th Chambers Bay Hickory Open provided by AP National Hickory Players – approximately 55 players will participate in the event.
