Tacoma’s Highlands set to host Washington Par-3 Championship

Highlands Golf Course in Tacoma is set to host the annual Washington State Par-3 Championship Sept. 12-13.

This has always been such a popular event that is always sells out, so sign up early.

Registration is picking up so now is the time to sign up for this annual event and take part in one of the strongest fields the tournament anticipates. The championship will take place over two days and consist of stroke play – with the winner receiving the conveted Tartan Vest and Angus Cup.

The Washington Par-3 Championship has become a popular event since Highlands created it. Highlands has been voted one of the top executive-length courses in the state and is always a challenge.

This year’s tournament is expected to have a different feeling as three-time champion Brett Manke will be unable to compete leaving the chase for the vest and cup wide open. Manke’s precision wedge play has been the big reason he had been a three-time winner of the event – but now the door is open for a new champion.
