Portland’s Glendoveer Golf course is a center for all things golf and more

Glendoveer Golf and Tennis is a hub of fitness and community set in Northeast Portland and is an easy commute from the Portland suburbs or Vancouver, Wash.

The entire property at Glendoveer Golf & Tennis encompasses over 240 acres, with golf and tennis as the main attraction of the property.  The facility has two 18-hole golf courses and a driving range, plus four indoor tennis courts and event-based footgolf. It also has a popular 2.3-mile fitness trail for joggers and walkers that borders the golf course.

The East Course at Glendoveer plays to 6,295 yards, a par 73 and slope of 123, and is considered the more demanding of the two courses because of its length and tight, tree-lined fairways and bunkers. Water comes into play on three holes.         

The West Course opened in 1928 and is one of the oldest in the city. It is a little easier of the two courses at 5,922 yards, and is a par 71 with a slope of 115, it has more open fairways and fewer bunkers. Being relatively flat, it is also easier to walk.

Glendower’s practice facility includes practice greens and a covered double-decker driving range with 30 hitting spaces. Some offer heated stations for winter practice. Summer camps are available June through August, with options for tennis and golf or half-day golf camps. Check their website for exact dates and fees.

Being one of the few facilities in Portland that has 36 holes, groups of up to 288 players can be accommodated on the East and West golf courses. This allows for larger group tournaments. Their recently built outdoor patio area offers a wonderful area to gather afterward for food and awards.

The other big attraction at Glendoveer is tennis, which includes four indoor courts and all the amenities you could want.

It doesn’t end there: For the Disc Golf fans, there is an 11,763-foot par 66 course, that held the Portland Classic in 2022. They don’t have a full-time disc golf course but do host open play throughout the year.
