UW player uses final hole ace to win Sahalee Players

A walk off hole-in-one on the 54th hole secured the first collegiate tournament title for Finn Koelle of the Washington Huskies at the Sahalee Players Championship at Sahalee Country Club.

Koelle is the first Huskies individual medalist since Taehoon Song at the Husky Invitational at Bremerton’s Gold Mountain Golf Club in 2024.

As a team, Washington climbed up the leaderboard to finish third at 26-over-par 890.

The Huskies shot even par during the final round after entering the day in eighth place. No. 3 Oklahoma State won the tournament by 28 strokes at 4-under 860.

Koelle entered his final hole — the 214-yard par-3 ninth — two shots off the lead before his ace moved him to the top.

Koelle matched the low round of the tournament with a 6-under 66 to finish at 7-under 209 overall to win the tournament by two strokes.
